My Journey to Mindfulness

Hi, I’m Michelle — the heart behind Mindful Moments.

My journey with mindfulness began when I enrolled in a 5-Day workshop called Mindfulness in Education At the time, I was looking for tools to manage my own stress and anxiety — both personally and professionally — and I hoped to offer the same support to my students. As a high school teacher and former guidance counsellor, I’ve always cared deeply about emotional well-being, but I didn’t yet have the tools to bring calm into my own busy life.

That first course opened a door. I began to slow down, breathe deeper, and approach each moment with more presence. It made such a difference that I continued my learning, taking further mindfulness training and integrating it into both my personal routines and classroom practices. (You can find a full list of my mindfulness education below.)

My personal practice helped me through difficult moments throughout the years, including a teacher burnout. After one experiences this, I was reminded of how fragile I could be and the need for a consistent mindful practice even during the brighter moments in my life. Mindful Moments was born from this ongoing journey. I created this space to share the tools and resources that have supported me through burnout, stress, and the everyday chaos of life. From printable journals and mindful wall art to self-paced courses and classroom resources, everything here is designed to help you reconnect with stillness, self-compassion, and what truly matters.

Whether you’re a teacher, parent, creative, or simply someone searching for a bit more peace — I’m so glad you’re here.

Let’s create mindful moments together.

With gratitude,

Michelle

Although I am continuously expanding my knowledge and my own mindfulness practice, here is a glimpse of my mindfulness education.
